Coordinator
Coordinators are the organizational brains and cultural heartbeat of our home support operations. This is a complex job, well suited to detail-oriented people who enjoy people and logic problems: our successful candidate is someone who cares too much and does the right thing on principle. You'll work with two monitors and systems full of data, making many decisions each day as the primary change agent for our clients and employees. Home care scheduling is fast-paced with tight time horizons: stressful but deeply satisfying for people with the capacity and aptitude to solve the problems. Our culture is asking, not telling, so charm is at a premium, and kindness to our employees is non-negotiable. All of our current Coordinators are certified HCAs; that's not a requirement, but equivalent familiarity with the health system is essential.
What You'll Do
- Answering phones and front-line admin: comfortable on the phone and computer for hours each day
- Same-day, next-day and weekly home care scheduling
- Pattern-based scheduling: moving people across geography, often back to back, from 1-hour to 24-hour shifts
- Managing and overseeing the ongoing allocation of hours and optimizing logistics
- Proactive relationship management: anticipating and meeting the needs and boundaries of our employees
- Involvement in hiring and recruitment alongside the whole Coordinator team
- Client onboarding, billing, accounts, health & safety, tech support, marketing, reporting, and policy & contract writing
Requirements
- Resume and two professional references
- BC Driver's License
- COVID vaccination status
- Clear TB test
- Criminal record check (Solicitor General)
- HCA certification an asset; equivalent familiarity with the health system is essential
- Exceptional logic skills, people skills, and attention to detail
- Kind to our employees, with the grace to handle frustrating behaviour
What We Offer
- Starting $29/hr, $31 after the 3-month probation, with steps to $33 and $35, plus the same annual increase everyone receives
- Full-time earnings of ~$65k/year starting and ~$85k/year once established
- Up to 6 weeks paid vacation, and up to 8 weeks with bonus vacation for good health and pension participation
- Weekend pay premiums and an end-of-year performance bonus
- Extended health and dental benefits, available from 15h/week
- 2-for-1 RRSP company pension: combined contributions starting at 6% and rising to 15%
- Humane, friendly, casual on-site office culture in a beautiful location surrounded by nature
- Training through doing, with real opportunity in a care & software company that builds everything in-house
